Local athletes heading to OFSAABy EXPOSITOR STAFFPosted 11 hours agoBrant County will be represented by a pair of athletes this coming weekend at the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations track and field championships in Sudbury. Paris District High School's Brandon Thomas and Assumption College's Cozette Collin each qualified for the provincial championships following their performances this past weekend at the OFSAA west regionals at the University of Western Ontario. Thomas, a 14-year-old Grade 9 student, was making his first foray into the OFSAA west regionals and he did himself proud. Competing in the midget boys 3,000 metres, Thomas was timed in 9:41.92. That result was slightly better than his time of 9:46.42 at the Central Western Ontario Secondary Schools Association championships and just shy of a first place finish at west regionals.
