Discus throw is in the Illingworth genes

OFSAA Competitors. Competitors from Almonte District High School brought back four top 10 finishes, including a bronze medal. Alanna Shearman, left, Ashlynn Illingworth and James Illingworth were happy to have done their school the honours.

Area athletes traveled to Sudbury last week to compete in the Ontario secondary school provincial championships, known as OFSAA.

Almonte District High School brought home a medal, with the brother and sister pair of Ashlynn and James Illingworth both snagging top 10 finishes in the javelin throw.

Ashlynn won a bronze medal in the midget girls event, bringing home the only medal for the three area high schools, and brother James took a sixth place finish in the senior boys event.

James started throwing in Grade 9, and brought back a fourth place finish from OFSAA.
